Sunday, June 10th, 1984: Honeycutt Sparkles, Blanks Cleveland
On the hill Rick Honeycutt stood out and was the master of the moment as he blanked Cleveland 8-0.

At bat the Indians floundered, fizzled and failed to score.

"His fastball moves and he mixes in the slider," the Cleveland manager said. "He kept us off balance."

The Seattle pitcher hurled a 5-hit shutout in an exceptional effort. He gave up 2 walks and numbered 4 strikeouts.

"I felt good," Honeycutt said. "That's probably the best fastball I've had all season. I was able to locate it pretty well. They were super-aggressive, which helped me."

In pitching stats this season Honeycutt has rung up 4 wins and 5 losses in 10 games. He has an ERA of 2.96 and has fanned 30 batters in 76 innings.
