Major League IV News Article | | | Friday, April 20th, 1984: Marty Bystrom Out for 2-3 Months It took the Philadelphia team doctor a while to realize it, but starting pitcher Marty Bystrom won't simply play through a torn tricep muscle after he got hurt throwing a pitch in today's Mets-Phillies game. At first, it looked like Bystrom might be back as early as tomorrow, but now the prognosis isn't quite so good; he's expected to miss at least 2-3 months. A spokesman for the club described the loss of Bystrom as a blow, but was confident that he'd be back soon.
