It might just be the preseason, but baseball is in the air! |  | Thursday, September 16th, 1982: PL's Best Batsman Selected, It's Valadez This season Miguel Angel Valadez bombed, battered and bruised just about every Pacific League pitcher on his way to the 1982 MLBIV AAA MVP.
The unstoppable Fresno catcher finished with a .432 batting average and .436 on-base percentage. He delivered 208 hits, 14 doubles, 2 triples, 6 home runs and 54 RBIs while scoring 71 runs.
For being named the PL's best batter Valadez will be honored at the SION Baseball Writers awards banquet this weekend. |  | Thursday, September 16th, 1982: IL Announces Best Batter Award 1982's top hitter in the International League is Kal Daniels. He feasted on everything opposing pitchers offered, hitting .302 with 29 home runs to claim the prestigious MLBIV AAA MVP.
During the year he tallied 133 hits, 104 RBIs, and 90 runs scored.
