Monday, June 10th, 1985: Jim Howard burst onto the Pacific League stage in a big way last week. This promising rookie center fielder for Las Vegas garnered everyone's respect by putting up some remarkable numbers and picking up the Player of the Week trophy.
The 25-year-old haunted opposing pitchers hitting .471 (8-17) with 3 home runs and 8 RBIs last week.
Howard is currently hitting at a .317 pace with 12 home runs and 30 RBIs. |

Monday, June 10th, 1985: It's always a thrill for fans of the team and students of the game alike when a superstar in the making shows what he's got. Josh Allison, the Louisville Bats 24-year-old right fielder, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for International League Player of the Week honors.
He ripped 11 hits in 21 at-bats, compiling a .524 average with 3 home runs and 5 RBIs.
This year Allison has hit 21 home runs and posted a .361 batting average. |
