 | Thursday, July 22nd, 1982: Ghelfi at His Best, Blanks Rochester "He was kind of teasing them with his offspeed stuff and his fastball was moving everywhere," the Scranton-Wilkes Barre skipper said in postgame comments after Tony Ghelfi had shut out the Rochester Red Wings 12-0 on a 6-hit masterpiece. Ghelfi numbered 1 strikeout and issued 2 walks in a gem of a performance. "We just didn't swing the bats very well . . . or he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," complained the Rochester manager after the defeat. In 1982 Ghelfi has compiled a 4-8 record with a 5.18 ERA in 22 starts. |
