General managers will be tweaking their rosters right up until the first pitch of the regular season is thrown. |  | Sunday, September 12th, 1982: Savannah's Cotton Wins SAL MLBIV A MVP 1982 was a very good year for Savannah Sand Gants left fielder Theron Cotton, this season's South Atlantic League MLBIV A MVP recipient.
Cotton had an outstanding year, hitting .406 with a .427 on-base percentage. He totaled 209 hits, 3 doubles, 2 triples, 6 home runs, 76 RBIs and scored 91 runs.
This weekend the SBWA will host its annual awards dinner and all of the major winners will be there to receive their trophies for their outstanding achievements this past season. |  | Sunday, September 12th, 1982: 1982 Premier Batter Selected Today Lansing's Brant Watson was named the Midwest League MLBIV A MVP winner for 1982. He punished MID hurlers hard all season long, collecting 198 hits in 483 at-bats.
With a .410 batting average, 8 doubles, 3 triples, 5 home runs, 65 RBIs and 79 runs scored, he was the top votegetter.
This weekend the SION Baseball Writers Association will present the trophy to Watson for being the MID's top-rated batter. He will receive it at the group's annual awards dinner. | | | | |
