Mickey Tettleton, the Cleveland Indians 23-year-old catcher, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for American League Player of the Week honors.
He ripped 9 hits in 18 at-bats, compiling a .500 average with 3 home runs and 9 RBI.
In his season totals Tettleton has 14 home runs and a .254 batting average. |  | Friday, July 13th, 1984: Tettleton Gets 6 Hits Mickey Tettleton was on fire today and sparked his club to a 28-3 victory over the Rangers. The Cleveland catcher was a tough out and went 6 for 8 against Texas in a fine hitting display.

M. Tettleton hit a two-run double in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off P. Clements in the 7th, hit a three-run home run off B. Castro in the 7th and flied out in the 9th.
