Tuesday, August 10th, 1982: Clippers Holds Scranton-Wilkes Barre Scoreless
Columbus hurler Ed Figueroa put on quite a show today as he blitzed the Scranton-Wilkes Barre Red Barons with a 6-0 shutout. He baffled them with fastballs and changeups, allowing 4 hits with 6 strikeouts and 1 walk to pick up the win.

The opposing manager told reporters after the game, "I think every time we were looking for a fastball, he threw a changeup and every time we were looking for a changeup, he threw a fastball."

Tuesday, July 27th, 1982: 5-Hit Game for Hatcher!
Bats left fielder,Billy Hatcher, had his way with Scranton-Wilkes Barre pitching today at Valley Cats Ballpark and mauled them for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but it was all in vain. The Red Barons ruined his great day by outscoring the Bats 8-4.

He told reporters after the game, "I had a great day, but you got to give Scranton-Wilkes Barre credit, they did what they had to do to win the game. They weren't very impressed with my 5 hits after all is said and done. They did what they had to do -- win the game."

The Red Barons skipper added, "Oh, I think we noticed what Hatcher did today. He had quite a game. I can tell you this, we will pitch him a little differently the next time we face him."

B. Hatcher singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run double in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

For 1982 Hatcher is batting .326 with 3 home runs, 42 RBIs and 54 runs scored.
