Friday, August 6th, 1982: Scott Gets 5 Hits
On top of the Lakewood hit parade today was Mike Scott. He went to the plate 5 times and marched away with 5 hits, sparking the BlueClaws to a 14-1 victory over the Columbus Catfish. He certainly had their number at the plate in this record-making 5-5 performance.

The sweet swinging first baseman told reporters, "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere. When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats."

The skipper of the Catfish wailed to the press, "Too much plate. Not the way we planned it. Any hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."

M. Scott hit a two-run single in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th and hit an RBI double in the 7th.

Scott is currently hitting at a .667 pace with no home runs and 6 RBIs.
Saturday, July 17th, 1982: Carroll Belts 5 Hits!
Bryan Carroll of the Braves was unstoppable in today's 14-5 victory over the Lakewood BlueClaws at Ballpark of Paradise. He battered them for 5 hits in 6 at-bats.

"Boy, I was on the mark today," said the Rome third baseman after the game. "All I had to do was swing, and I connected. It's a great feeling to do this. And besides, 5-6 won't hurt your batting average like 0-5 will."

B. Carroll singled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off J. Unknown in the 7th and singled in the 8th.

In 1982 Carroll has put up a .293 batting average with 123 hits, 2 home runs and 43 RBIs.
